Very interesting and authentic tour. I spend a lot of time talking to the nun, I was free to ask any questions and she took time to answered me. We did some activivity to learn about Japanese Buddhism. The guide was also very kind, her English was very good. I did the tour in a small group and it helps to have a good experience. Would definitely recommend !See moreSee less

I thought that the host was really courteous and friendly, and gave valuable insights on her own beliefs, as well as provide snippets of her life.; Thanks again! ;I think such tours are more experiential; something that is important amidst all the sightseeing tours etc. Going through the daily lifestyles of the different people in Japan provide invaluable cultural exposure, that I believe is important when you visit any country.; Thank you once again for the great experience! I really enjoyed the peacefulness and serenity of the temple, and the knowledge I gained was immense. As I personally am interested in mindfulness, I am looking forward to reading your book. :)See moreSee less

This tour is definitely an eye-opener for foreigners to be in touch with other parts of Japan. The local hosts were extremely hospitable and chatty despite the language barrier. Although it was a short tour, we manage to do many activities such as woodcutting, making a bamboo cup/flute before finishing off with a BBQ. Chances to experience this is rare and if you have the opportunity do go for it!See moreSee less

It was definitely a unique experience! I've found this tour educative and fun, but also very calming and inspiring, at the same time. I was really happy to hear all the stories directly from the local monk and to be hosted in a family-like atmosphere. It gives a different feeling comparing to regular rushed sightseeing or discovering the places on your own. It literally brings the people from various countries, races, religions closer to each other; and creates the emotional bond to the place itself. I've learned a lot. Highly recommend this tour!See moreSee less
