WHAT TO EXPECT

Japanese Pottery Workshop Try your hand at this traditional Japanese art form and make your very own piece of pottery alongside a real Japanese potter! Pottery is one of Japan's oldest cultural traditions, with artefacts dating back over 10,000 years. Join us as we delve deep into Japan's history and culture, then take what you learned to create your own original masterpiece. In this experience, a professional craftsperson will guide you through the steps to make an authentic piece of Japanese pottery. First, choose your favourite design (feel free to personalize it too!). Then, guided by the host, you will carefully work the clay into your desired shape. Finally, the potter will bake your work in their studio and post it to your home when it's done! (The process takes approximately 6 weeks.) This activity is a wonderful way to experience Japanese history and culture, while also creating a one of a kind memento of your time in Japan.
