Although I conduct a food tour, I am actually an IT manager by profession. In fact, I have been in this line for 11 years, and quite expertly fulfill the diverse needs of my customers. System development, website creation, and web marketing, you name it, I deliver it. You must now be puzzled as to how my background makes me qualified to conduct this tour. Well, I think there are striking similarities between IT and cooking. Both require a keen eye for details and a systematic approach to gathering all the necessary components. WHAT TO EXPECT

Meet your host, Ken Kyoto, at Tsukiji Shijo Station where you will psych yourselves up for the tour ahead by discussing your favorite recipes. Once you’ve got the creative conceptualization of dishes out of the way, Ken will take you on a tour of various shops to purchase ingredients as varied as maguro (Bluefin tuna), ikura (Japanese salmon caviar), konbu (edible kelp) and bonito shavings at the Tsukiji Marketplace, Tokyo’s premiere fish market. Of course, the host will complement your visit with interesting nuggets of trivia about the history and fascinating features of each shop. Next, take a bus and adjourn to a cooking area where you'll get first-hand experience with the ingredients you just bought by making classic Japanese dishes like miso soup, dashi (soup stock) and temaki (hand-rolled) sushi. Round up this enriching culinary tour by tucking into your homemade dishes and savoring the sheer awesomeness of Tsukiji's fresh and superb ingredients.
