Hello, I’m Rui Kouda, a Kyoto native and a“Benibana Kyo Yusen”(Safflower Kimono dyeing) creator. I’ve been in the business of the Japanese craft of dyeing for some 20 odd years. About 10 years ago I was on an Asahi Television program called“Safflower Dream”, in which I joined a few Japanese actresses on a four-month tour across the silk road. From this experience, I learned about Safflower’s deep history and cultural connection to Japan. Now I am a Safflower producer with the aim of promoting, “Safflower’s beauty, deliciousness, and health benefits”. I welcome all visitors to Kyoto to try this authentic Japanese cultural experience not available anywhere else.
