Hello, my name is Takeshi Banshotani. I would like to share with you the joy of making and creating beautiful art and craft. I invite you to come see and make Senshu pottery made by clay from the Senshu area. Each person will be able to make 8 dishes! It brings me much joy to see others experience the joy of working with clay and making pottery. In 2009 I was a lecturer at the International Ceramic Symposium in Taiwan, in 2015 I held a solo exhibition at the Takashimaya Osaka Store, and I was a visiting professor at the National University School of Ceramics in Seoul, Korea. Please come visit and make pottery with me, I look forward to meeting you very soon!
WHAT TO EXPECT
In the world, pottery is one of the oldest forms of art and craft. Japan is no exception; the art of pottery has been around Japan since the Jomon-Period, one of the earliest periods in Japanese ancient history. Japan has one of the oldest pottery traditions in the world, as such, pottery is an essential aspect of Japanese art and culture. Would you like to learn more about this ancient Japanese art? Enter Takeshi Bansyotani. He is an experienced potter who has traveled around the world teaching about pottery. He would like to share with you the joy of making pottery. Why not experience the joy of learning this ancient art from an experienced teacher and artist? You will be able to work with local clay of the area, Senshu clay, and learn how to make Senshu Pottery. Each person will be able to me 8 dishes! The experience will, for sure, be a very memorable part of your trip!
