WHAT TO EXPECT
On this experience you will have the chance to view some truly rare sights. To begin, we will visit “Japan’s shortest tower” at the Buddhist temple, Jigenin. At only 3 ken (approx. 6 meters) across and two stories high, with a total height of only 10 meters, this beautiful and refined structure is known as the smallest pagoda in all of Japan. Despite its diminutive stature, this pagoda is famous as a national treasure.
After our tower tour, it’s time to view various illustrated works of art from the time of the middle ages, Kamakura and Sengoku periods, while taking a walk in the countryside by feudal manors. For anyone interested in Buddhist and medieval Japanese architecture, this walk is for you!
