If there is one symbol to express the changing of the seasons in Japan, it would have to “sakura” (cherry blossoms). Cherry blossom viewing parties are very popular in the spring all across Japan. Many people gather beneath the cherry trees to enjoy the fleeting beauty of sakura blossoms, which only lasts for about 1 month per year. On this tour, your guide will take you to one of the lesser known and magnificent sakura viewing spots within the Tokyo Metropolis. Located on the peak of Mt. Hakone, you will be able to marvel at the sea of sakura blossoms stretching out before your eyes. It is at this rare sakura viewing location that you will experience a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Enjoy the subtly sweet taste of “ohagi” (a Japanese sweet made from sweet rice and red bean paste), which perfectly complements the matcha green tea while your spirit is refreshed by the beautiful scenery. Next, you will visit Anahachimangu Shrine, which is known by the locals to bring good financial luck, and finally, you will visit the host’s home neighborhood of Takadanobaba, an area of Tokyo well-known for its many ramen restaurants. Get rare insight about the area thanks to your guide’s local knowledge. The whole tour lasts for about two hours and packs a Japanese cultural experience like no other.
