Although I'm originally from the U.S. I've been working in Asakusa for the past 7 years and have taken the opportunity to visit many delicious restaurants and bars beloved by the locals. As I have discovered these hidden gems little by little over the years, I'd love to share my knowledge of the area with others. I think Asakusa is a great tourist spot, and if you are willing to spend a little money you can do all manner of things, including an old fashion rickshaw ride around the area. My goal is to accurately introduce how Japanese people enjoy their free time while incorporating Japanese culture.

On this afternoon tour of Asakusa you will get a chance to see, taste, and enjoy life in the Japanese way. Starting the tour off with a pleasant walk by a river lined with cherry blossom trees, you will then move onto the magnificent Kaminarimon gate. Walk through the gate and down a bustling pedestrian street known for its traditional Japanese souvenirs and sweet shops. This really is the perfect place to pick up any souvenirs you might want to take home, as everything here really is "Japanese". Once you come to the end of the street, Sensoji Temple is ready for your prayers. Next up is a game center and batting cage where you can enjoy a different kind of arcade than you may be used to. All that walking and playing is sure to give you an appetite, which is perfect as there are many delicious restaurants in the area. Choose from soba (buckwheat noodles), ramen, monjayaki (pan-fried savory cake), and other popular Japanese cuisine. This tour is great for anyone who would like to see many different elements of Japanese daily life.
