YOUR HOST

Shujiro TAKESHITA

Although I'm originally from the U.S. I've been working in Asakusa for the past 7 years and have taken the opportunity to visit many delicious restaurants and bars beloved by the locals. As I have discovered these hidden gems little by little over the years, I'd love to share my knowledge of the area with others. I think Asakusa is a great tourist spot, and if you are willing to spend a little money you can do all manner of things, including an old fashion rickshaw ride around the area. My goal is to accurately introduce how Japanese people enjoy their free time while incorporating Japanese culture.

WHAT TO EXPECT

On this night tour you can take the chance to explore the famous tourist spots in addition to the little known back streets of Tokyo's Asakusa neighborhood. Starting off with a walk along the river lined with cherry blossom trees, you will move on the striking Kaminarimon gate and make your way down a road lined with shops famous for their traditional Japanese souvenirs and sweets. At the end of the road awaits Sensoji Temple where you can see a pagoda, pray, and get an omikuji fortune. The tour does not end here though, as you will also get the chance to visit a game center and batting cage, two very popular Japanese leisure activites. Cap off the expereince by visiting Hoppy Street, an anrea know for its izakaya (Japanese bars). The tour is perfect for anyone who would like to experience classic Japanese nightlife.
