How tasty, cheap and deep! In Shinjuku, Omoide Yokocho and Golden Gai are fantastic places in which good old Japanese humanity and feelings are still alive. They are popular amongst the locals as a place to enjoy cheap and delicious food. You can encounter amazing scenes If you step into the narrow alleys that almost all the travelers tend to overlook. The streets are full of the lights of lanterns and the savory smells of grilled chicken thanks to the many Japanese tapas bars (Izakaya). This wonderful atmosphere casts a spell over you, and you feel as if you had been transported through time 50 years back into the Showa period. In 3 hours, we will guide you to two kinds of Japanese Izakaya. Not to mention get regional drinks like a local. In the 1st restaurant, you will be able to taste raw sliced fish(Sashimi) and also grilled fish. Furthermore, in the 2nd restaurant, you can get a rare chance to make octopus balls. Finally, we skim through the famous Golden Gai. In there, you will be able to enjoy drinking world-renowned Japanese whiskey if you are still up to it. We chose to keep this tour is a small group, for you to get the chance to get to know deeply your host and become good friends with the other guests. Let's go for an exciting and special experience in Shinjuku! ★★★SPRING SPECIAL★★★ From the end of March to the beginning of April, you have a chance to do a “Ohanami”, which means “cherry blossom viewing”, a Japanese traditional culture. We will go to two hidden Ohanami spots in Shinjuku: Joenji temple and Hanazono Shrine. In Joenji temple, you will see a beautiful arrangement of Weeping cherry tree (Shidarezakura) and office skyscrapers. In Hanazono shrine, the Somei Yoshino species of Cherry trees look even better with the red shrine gates and traditional lanterns. You will be able to relax in these magnificent locations still ignored by the general public. The cherry blossom season is brief, so be sure not to miss this chance!

I enjoyed spending time with people from all different cultures and places around the world at Shinjuku bars and izakaya.

I enjoyed the tour very much. I feel fortunate that I was able to be a part of it. My favorite aspect of the experience was spending time with people from all different cultures and places around the world. Another thing that I enjoyed was the ability to access bars and restaurants that I would be intimidated to enter if I were by myself. Thank you again for the opportunity!See moreSee less

    Fantastic experience and highly recommend!

Moena & Sayaka were perfect hosts. They were easy to talk to and were wonderful company despite our age differences. Although I have been to Tokyo many times, I have never been to the bars in Shinjuku. This was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend this tour to all tourists who wish to see where the local Japanese populace go to relax with food and drink.See moreSee less

The opportunity to see an interesting part of Japanese culture!

Do you know how to travel in time? Now I know how to do that and it's not impossible like you may think. Today in the center of modern Tokyo I found a small piece of history name Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane). I got a unique chance to see post-war period Japan. The majority of the restaurants and shops are built tightly, right next to each other. You will find small izakayas with tasty food at reasonable prices. Today was really interesting evening, people from all over the world (England, Australia, The USA, Germany, Russia and of course Japan) gathered together to try Japanese food and talk about life and culture of Japan. It was really great experience, which I will never forget! Thank you to our nice host! Thank you for the opportunity to see an interesting part of Japanese culture!See moreSee less

    Takoyaki adventure

Had a great experience walking through the small alleys in Shinjuku with our guide, Moena. She took us to a Japanese izakaya where we were the only foreigners. We tried our hands at cooking takoyaki. Highly recommended if you want to try something a bit different.See moreSee less

    Izakaya in Shinjuku experience

It was awesome to experience izakaya in Shinjuku with our host Moena. Foods and drinks are good and the ambiance of the place is really good. I highly recommend this tour to the first timer visitors in Japan. A special thanks to our host Moena for waiting a little bit due to heavy rain.See moreSee less
