Hello, my name is Miki. I enjoy all sorts of activities that involve making things with your hands, and I especially enjoy making sushi. I quite regularly make sushi at home in fact. I thought it was normal until I told my friends about it and learned it’s actually pretty rare! I would love to teach others how to make their own delicious sushi in a clear and easy to remember fashion so that everyone can enjoy sushi in their own homes. My events are kid friendly, so please bring along your young ones if you have any.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This is the perfect activity for sakura (cherry blossom) season. Get away from the tourist crowds in the park, and enjoy this private cooking lesson in the host’s own home in Tokyo. The host, Miki will teach you how to make two delicious types of Japanese sweets, sakura shaped nerikiri, a sweet similar to Turkish Delight, and sakura-mochi, a pink colored rice cake covered with red beans and wrapped in real pickled sakura leaves. These sweets go perfect with bitter Matcha, green tea. The host will also teach you how to perform the tea ceremony in a casual style, so there is no pressure. With this experience, you will definitely enjoy the taste and scent of spring in the Japanese style.
