Hi, I am Mimoka. There are different types of glass arts that I make, but this time I will be teaching you how to make a Japanese kaleidoscope. I am very excited to host this experience!
WHAT TO EXPECT
On this hands-on tour you’ll learn to put a Japanese spin on this globally popular craft, mangekyo (literally, ten thousand glorious mirrors.) With unique beads that are reminiscent of Japanese sweets and traditional Japanese paper, you’ll use a variety of accessories and pieces collected by our host to create beautiful kaleidoscopes. You’ll also get a crash course in how our host got their start, and the history of how this once only European craft made its way over and flourished in Japan.
