"Hello, I am a Tokyo native who wishes to spread the joy of Japanese flower arrangement called ikebana. My hobbies are of course ikebana, but I also enjoy cooking and golf. The reason I decided to open this workshop on ikebana was for the purpose of meeting and exchanging culture with visitors to Japan who have an interest in flower arrangement. I thought it would be a wonderful chance to fulfill this dream, and my goal is to send every guest home fully satisfied after the experience. I am proud say that I am a certified ikebana instructor and I would love to share my knowledge with you, so join in on this pure Japanese culture experience."

For this ikebana (flower arranging) workshop you will get the chance to step into a traditional Japanese home and see authentic butsudan (Buddhist altar), kamidana (Shinto alter), and Torii (the red gate to a Shinto shrine). First learn all about the history and beauty of ikebana, one of Japan’s most delicate and thoughtful art forms, and put to use what you learned to good use by making your own ikebana creation. You will be able to choose from numerous kinds of flower arrangement options to choose what best suits you, picking and choosing either western or Japanese elements to incorporate into your masterpiece. When you are finished, your creation is yours to take home as a beautiful souvenir, but the adventure does not end there.
