Small-Group Bushido Experience in Tokyo

Service provided by TABICA

Practice Iaido on real target with real swords.

  • Summary Bushido is the way of the Samurai warrior and the code that the Samurai have to live by. During this experience, you will learn the techniques and the control needed to conduct yourself as the samurai once did. Through the use of a real Japanese Katana you will practice Iaido on real targets and cut them to pieces. The dojo (Japanese for training hall) we will be visiting is called the “Ryuseikan”, which sits at an easily accessible location from parts of central Tokyo (Shibuya, Shinjuku etc.) Once we arrive at the dojo, the Bushido master will serve as your guide for the day. There will also be a translator to help you communicate so that you can enjoy focusing and honing your skills. We will spend about 2 hours at the dojo, participating in basic training and different techniques needed to live in the way of the warrior.

  • A message from the host At Ryuseikan, we want to find back the essence of bushido that have mostly been lost through the ages. We want to help the world understand what is the real way of the warrior. Through the world of today Japan's culture is well known but also suffers from a lot of misunderstandings and interpretations. Come to our Iaido Dojo to experiment a real Katana and how to safely cut with it.
