My name is Kaoru Ito, and I live and breathe travel. My zest for travel has led to having lived in both the Philippines and China, as well as visiting a myriad of countries including Thailand, Vietnam, Argentina, Peru, Canada, and America. Nothing excites me more than making friends with people from other places and learning about their diverse ways of living - I find that both intriguing and inspiring.
Determined to integrate travel into my life in Japan as well, I passed the examination to be a certified Domestic Travel Service Supervisor. As an avid traveler, I understand what makes for a memorable tour - and will help you witness the multi-faceted appeal of Fukagawa. I speak English fluently and will gladly be your go-between, so you can engage with the local residents - many of whom will blow your mind with their uniqueness and creativity!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Fukagawa is a vibrant and thriving area in Tokyo that has something to offer to every travel-loving personality, be they nature lovers, gourmet connoisseurs, or craftsmanship seekers. Located a mere three kilometres from Tokyo Station, Fukagawa is a great place to take a breather and immerse yourself in nature by cycling in Kiyosumi Park. As you soothe your soul, your aesthetic sensibilities will be similarly stimulated as we visit workshops that showcase traditional crafts like Edo glass and Edo komon (Edo-dyed cloth). Not only that, the various temples and shrines scattered around the neighbourhood really evoke the area’s historic charm. Once you have had your fill of cycling, you may want to rest and savor a coffee from Blue Bottle Coffee, whose exquisite coffee has gained a cult following. Or, if wine is your choice of beverage, a visit to Fukagawa Winery is not to be missed. Join my tour to recharge yourself in every sense of the word!
